When we were asked to participate in Hanratty & Associates 3rd Annual Food Drive for Second Harvest Heartland, we stuck true to our mantra, asking ourselves, “how can we do this differently than we did before?”
Growing up, it’s the first thing you begged mom and dad to make after school (yes, we’re still kids at heart). It’s a filling, warm dinner for cold winter nights and it’s quick and easy for busy families in need to feed their little loved ones.
And it’s a cheap way for you to help out. Think of it this way: each bottle of soda you forgo today puts two meals on the table.
Today, 1 in 10 of our neighbors is at risk of missing a meal on any given day. For children, the need is even greater with 1 in 6 at risk of going hungry. But you can join us to make a difference.

At the age of 23, Nathan co-founded NADA advertising. He is the creative strategist behind Nerland Co. and with his holistic approach, is driven by developing unique differentiators for clients that will breakthrough the clutter in their categories. He is also founder of the Carson Glore Foundation, who’s mission is to educate an entire generation by building schools in Kenya.
Jordan has a B.A. in Business Marketing and Entrepreneurship and has a strong passion to help businesses succeed by understanding the core strategy behind a brand. In an average week, Jordan spends more time at coffee shops than he does at his own home. Outside of the advertising world, Jordan loves looking through the lens of a camera to uniquely capture weddings, engagements, and portraits.
Claire is most passionate as a mama, marathoner and Mennonite. She has run seven marathons, plays Chopin preludes on the piano, devours literary fiction and eats an ungodly amount of peanut butter. She aspires to behave like Seinfeld's Elaine but knows she’s a better dancer having been a ballerina since age 6. She writes wearing red shoes and her favorite punctuation is a colon: Giddy-up!
Katie brings 20+ years of marketing, strategy and project management experience to Nerland Co. Her passion for relationship building has paved the way for success at companies such as General Mills, Target, Carlson Companies, Capella University, University of Minnesota, UnitedHealth Group, Group O, Coldwell Banker, and more. At Nerland Co., Katie acts as a liaison between our team and clients, helping our projects stay on time, and on budget.
Robert's passion is to help clients build their brands using PR, communications and digital media. The last 15 years, he has helped national consumer brands and major health care organizations determine exactly how PR and communications can support their goals, then developed and executed plans that made a difference. He has also been on the account side at Interval, North Memorial Health Care and Carmichael Lynch Spong.

After spending 17 years in the marketing and corporate planning world, Angie has lead teams at Optum Health, United Health Group, Carrot, Capella University, Carlson Marketing Group to name a few. At Nerland Co., Angie leads strategic planning to discover the strengths and potential for our clients — which helps us launch a brand and marketing strategy most successfully.
As a mother, Lilla’s number one obsession is her family: a wonderful partner, an eight year-old son, two incredible cats and (the youngest member of the family), an adopted mudi dog (a Hungarian shepherd species). As a designer, her passion is to: CREATE. If there is no “paper and pencil” she could regroup the interior in the house…twice a week.

Derek has worked alongside variety of brands including Harley Davison, The Minnesota Twins & HealthPartners. Outside of that he spends his time being inspired by his family & close community of friends.

Mike is a social guy in every sense of the word, though he graciously embraces the title 'Unapologetic Minnesotan' as well. He is driven by his two primary goals in life: connect and grow. Upon graduation with a BS in Marketing from NDSU, he cut his teeth working for local hospitality giant Kaskaid where he worked on brands such as CRAVE, CRAVE Catering, Sopranos Kitchen and Urban Eatery as Marketing Manager.
Molly joined our team after returning from six years living in Austria & Germany with her family. She brings a passion for relationship building with years of Caribou Coffee experience as Manager of Global Franchise in the US and around the world. Molly is excited to bring her in-depth research and competitive analysis skill set to Nerland Co's new and future clients.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Ali has spent years in the Twin Cities mobile, App and technology world at Mentor Mate and other leaders in the industry. Her passion for connecting companies with great resources and and strategic thinking is just what Nerland Co. was looking for. We are excited to have her on the team.
A Twin Cities transplant by way of the East Coast, Drew originally came to Minnesota to attend Macalester College in Saint Paul, where he majored in Studio Art and English Literature. After graduating in 2014, Drew decided to stay in Minnesota and become a full-time member of Nerland Co, where he helps the team by creating, researching, editing, and driving new initiatives.
Fresh out of the Journalism School at the University of Minnesota, Laura has a knack for public relations and new media. Throughout her college career, she served as President of Public Relations Student Society of America, worked as a Senior Account Executive for the Minnesota Daily, as well as interned for Weber Shandwick, Yelp and KSTP. Laura is thrilled to fuse her PR skills with the Nerland Co. team and support in social media, client relations, and communications.
Unrelated to Kris Jenner, Rachel has over 15 years experience managing the finances of small businesses around the Twin Cities. When she's not visiting clients, she loves spending time with her girls and learning new things. Her latest project is expanding her knowledge of urban farming by raising backyard chickens.
Lukas is not your average copywriter. He detests flannel, craft beers and the occasional snarky Twin Peaks reference you probably missed. Instead, he’s deeply interested in crafting copy that’s smart, truthful and simple—he has written for global consumer brands all the way to small B2B companies. His pride in his work is most relevant when he’s captioning his Instagram posts or tweeting about his love for all things pizza.

Khawar is a leader in his field. His expertise ranges from project management to development and coding. He leads Nerland Co. in bringing solutions to our client's most complex problems.
In 2011, Nerland Co. founder, Nathan Nerland, started the Carson Glore Foundation. Their only mission was to educate a generation by building schools in Kenya. The first Carson Glore school opened its doors to 388 students in 2012. With two schools now completed and nearly 800 students, the Carson Glore Foundation is currently fundraising for their 3rd school. Nerland Co. is proud to underwrite the entire costs of the foundation so that every dollar donated goes directly to building classrooms, adding water supply systems, installing new latrines, purchasing desks, buying school supplies, retraining teachers and supporting the parent teacher association.
